The Human Rights Defender has published
awareness raising video on receiving
the Defender's support in case of domestic violence.
The video was prepared with the support
of the EU funded “Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in Armenia” Project
implemented by UNDP, UNFPA and UNICEF.
The
restrictions imposed during the State of Emergency aimed at preventing the
spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) increase the risk of violence in the
family, especially against, women, children and the elderly.
During
these days, such issues are common in many countries, because of the special
instructions for preventing the spread of the infection worldwide (isolation,
not going to work, social issues as side effects, etc.).
A working group has been set up by the
decision of the Human Rights Defender on issues related to violence against women,
children and the elderly, which will discuss both written and oral complaints
and conduct monitoring (publications, work of state bodies, etc.).
To receive the Human Rights Defender’s
assistance, including legal consultation on rights, the hotlines 116 or
096-116-100 are available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
