2019 Annual Report on the activities of the Human Rights Defender of the
Republic of Armenia and the situation of protection of human rights and
fundamental freedoms, as well as 2019 Annual Report on the activities of the Human Rights Defender as the National
Preventive Mechanism have been submitted to the National Assembly.
Guided by the principles of
professionality, impartiality and neutrality, the documents include not only
recorded issues, but also recommendations of the Human Rights Defender and
positive developments.
The documents address issues related to human rights situation in closed
institutions, particular reference was made to the rights protection of
military servicemen, women, children, persons with disabilities, in the
criminal justice system, as well as issues of public resonance, socio-economic
rights, protection of business, etc.
