The Human Rights Defender participated
in the annual conference in Moscow dedicated to the exchange of international
best practice of the Ombudsman institutions in the Eurasian territory.
Ombudsmen from more than 21 countries
and heads of 10 international organizations attended the third international
conference organized by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian
Federation.
The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan
presented the pecularities of work in the field of torture prevention.
“It is important to have an individual approach
towards detained and convicted persons and to introduce a risk assessment
mechanism on their behavior. Detained and convicted persons should participate
in the decision making processes that concern them.” noted the RA Human Rights
Defender.
During the conference, issues with
regard to human rights protection on the Eurasian territory, in particular,rights
of the migrants, ecological security and issues on the protection of human
rights in digital environment, were discussed.
