Zarine Hovhannisyan, Head of the Lori, sub-division of
the Human Rights Defender's Office of the Republic of Armenia, participated as
a speaker in a workshop titled “Unified Response and Feedback System for
Inclusive Education".
Zarine Hovhannisyan spoke about the state's obligation to
ensure access to education for persons with disabilities without discrimination
within the framework of universal inclusive education.
During the panel discussion, the representative of the
Human Rights Defender spoke about the ongoing problems from the perspective of
ensuring the right to education of persons with disabilities, which relate to:
▪️ problems related to ensuring accessibility and the
provision of reasonable accommodation
▪️ problems related to ensuring the quality and efficiency
of education
▪️ problems related to organizing the education of children
with disabilities in a separate environment.
The panel discussion was organized by the
"Lusastgh" NGO within the framework of the "Universal Inclusion
2. From Budget to Policy" project, implemented with the financial support
of the European Union.
