As a
result of the monitoring carried out by the Human Rights Defender’s Office,
concerning information has been received that a few days ago journalist Mr.
Hakob Karapetyan, a representative of the Yerevan Press Club, was subjected to
violence.
The

repeatedly emphasized that any manifestation of violence is strictly
unacceptable and condemnable. Each case must receive an appropriate legal
assessment, and those responsible must be held accountable. The state has clear

mentioned case and a preliminary investigation is underway. Attaching
importance to the mentioned circumstance, the Human Rights Defender considers
it crucial to conduct a rapid, objective and comprehensive investigation into
such cases, as well as to provide the public with the permissible amount of

Rights Defender, and necessary steps are being taken within the framework of
the Defender’s mandate.
