A single mother of minor children applied to the Human
Rights Defender for assistance with a request to organize the necessary medical
care for her child free of charge.
In the application, it was noted that the child has a
serious health problem, for the treatment of which a medical institution has
prescribed surgery using special medical technology. According to the medical
certificate, the cost amounts to approximately 3 million AMD.
The citizen added that her family is in a socially
vulnerable situation and does not have sufficient financial resources to
acquire the aforementioned expensive technology.
At the same time, it was emphasized that the surgery should
be carried out as soon as possible, and the health problem may also be an
obstacle to the proper organization of the child's education.
Through the cooperation of the Human Rights Defender’s
Office and the Ministry of Health, the cost of the expensive technology used
during the surgical intervention was fully reimbursed within the framework of
the state order, and the problem raised by the citizen was resolved.
