The authorized representative of the forcibly displaced
persons from Nagorno-Karabakh applied to the Human Rights Defender, requesting
assistance in obtaining a one-year pension.
In particular, it was reported that after being
displaced, the individuals settled in one of the provinces of Armenia and
during the same year applied to the Unified Social Service Territorial Center
of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in order
to be granted a pension. However, due to health problems, they left for abroad
a few days later without being granted the pensions. Upon returning to Armenia,
they went to the Unified Social Service to apply for a pension, but were
informed that there was no need to submit an application, as their data was
already available. After some time, they found out that the pensions had not
been transferred to the bank cards. The individuals submitted a written
application to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of
Armenia, from which they received a response stating that the application had
to be submitted within the specified period, therefore the pension would only
be granted from the date of submission.
The Defender addressed the mentioned problem to the
competent state body. Through the effective cooperation between the Human
Rights Defender's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Labor
and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the problem was addressed,
appropriate solutions were provided, and as a result of the additional
examination, the unpaid pensions of the displaced persons were transferred to
them.
