On July 21, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia
Ms. Anahit Manasyan received a delegation led by Mr. Siddhartha Dutta,
Representative of the World Health Organization in Armenia and Head of the WHO
Country Office.
Welcoming the guests, Ms. Anahit Manasyan presented the Human
Rights Defender’s independent constitutional mandate, as well as the main areas
of activity, in which special attention is paid to ensuring health rights and
the effective implementation of human rights in the healthcare sector.
The Defender emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation
with the WHO and developing joint initiatives, stressing that studying and
adopting international best practices can significantly contribute to the
modernization of the sector and to enhancing the promotion and protection of
human rights in the healthcare system.
In turn, Mr. Siddhartha Dutta highly appreciated the activities
of the Human Rights Defender's Office of the Republic of Armenia and emphasized
the willingness to continue and develop cooperation.
