On
November 13, a training course on the Gender Equality Seal (GES) was held for
the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
The
training was conducted within the framework of the process of introducing the
Gender Equality Seal, which was officially launched in the Human Rights
Defender's Office on April 9, 2024.
The
training was opened with the Defender's message.
The
welcoming speech was delivered by Ms. Zhanna Harutyunyan, UNDP Gender Equality
Portfolio Manager.
In
her message, the Defender emphasized the distinct importance of implementing
continuous measures aimed at developing the capacities of the Human Rights
Defender's Office regarding the proper organization of activities aimed at
guaranteeing and promoting gender equality.
"I
am confident that this thematic training course will contribute to the Human
Rights Defender's Office developing a comprehensive understanding of the Gender
Equality Seal, the importance of gender equality, as well as to making the
Human Rights Defender's institution more inclusive and integrating gender
concerns into all areas of work" stated the Defender in her message.
During
the training, inter alia, strategic directions in the context of the Gender
Equality Seal, consideration of the gender component at the level of activities
and policies of public institutions, as well as the scope of the Gender
Equality Seal in the context of public institutions were discussed.
The
training course was organized within the framework of the UNDP " “Women in
Politics, Public Administration and Civil Society”" project, which is
funded by the Good Governance Fund.
