The International Coordinating Committee (ICC) for National Human Rights Institutions was established in 1993. The ICC promotes and strengthens NHRIs to be in accordance with the Paris Principles, and provides leadership in the promotion and protection of human rights.
In 2005, the Office of Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia applied for a membership to the International Coordinating Committee (ICC) for National Human Rights Institutions.
On October 2006, Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia was granted “A” status by the Committee.
