According to the information
provided by public sources on November 28, 2016, the Director of the “Poqr Mher”
Educational Complex regularly addresses statements containing threats and
obscene to the students and officers of the educational complex, insulting
their dignity.
On the same day, the Human Rights
Defender initiated a consideration of the issue on his own initiative. There
was an immediate visit to the “Poqr Mher” educational complex. During the
visit, the Defender's representatives had private interviews with the students
of the educational complex, met with the head staff and conducted other
relevant studies.
During the visit, they identified
issues of concern and urgent intervention. During the privet interviews the students
of the educational complex have insisted on their ill-treatment which was
conducted also publicly. There are also issues related to the acts regulating
the activities of the educational complex, as well as the means of influence on
the students in that institution and the practice of their application.
The Human Rights Defender
immediately discussed the issue with the RA Minister of Education and Science
and according to the results of the discussion, the registered problems
associated with the educational complex were also presented to the Ministry
with the suggestions of solving them.
The RA Human
Rights Defender highlights the importance of the joint work with the Ministry
of Education and Science regarding this issue and will be consistent in
ensuring the proper protection of the children's rights in the "Poqr
Mher" educational complex.
This statement does not disclose
the details of the issues described, given the best interests of the children
as well as the legal requirement for the procedure of the discussion of the
issue.
