On October 10, 2024, representatives of the Human Rights
Defender of the Republic of Armenia and the Commissioner for Human Rights of
the Russian Federation jointly visited Moscow Center for Temporary Detention of
Foreign nationals.
During the visit, the representatives of the Defender met
with citizens of the Republic of Armenia who were residing in Russia without
permission and awaiting readmission.
In private conversations, Armenian citizens raised issues
related to adequate medical assistance, including the provision of medication,
personal hygiene, and the separation of close relatives from each other, among
other concerns.
The issues raised were discussed on-site by the
representatives of the Defender with the Acting Head of the Center. The Acting
Head instructed the administration's representatives to take immediate measures
to address the identified issues.
The Human Rights Defender highly values constructive
cooperation with partner Ombuds Institutions to provide prompt solutions to the
issues.
