From
August 28-30, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan was in the Kingdom of
Denmark with a working visit.
During
the visit, the Defender participated in both the retreat and the meeting of the
Board of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) in
Copenhagen.
The
participants discussed, among other things, issues related to the work of the
network, the upcoming elections of the Board, strategic questions related to
priorities and possible challenges.
Anahit
Manasyan emphasized her commitment to continue actively participating in the joint
efforts aimed at protecting fundamental rights.
Let's
recall that, based on the results of the voting held within the framework of
the ENNHRI’s General Assembly on February 7, 2024, Anahit Manasyan was elected
a a Board Member of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions
(ENNHRI).
This
marks the first time that the institution of the Human Rights Defender of
Armenia has been included in the governance body of the European network.
