On
July 1-2, the Council of Europe organized a two-day workshop in Strasbourg
entitled “Addressing hate speech and hate crime: role of equality bodies to counter
the spiral of violence and discrimination” which was attended by Anzhelika
Movsesova, adviser to the Human Rights Defender.
Within
the framework of the two-day workshop, the trainers presented the latest
developments and approaches in the fight against hate speech, organized group
work, during which the participants made speeches, exchanged experience in the
fight against hate speech, in order to carry out the work aimed at improving
the sphere more effectively.
The
Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan emphasizes the participation of staff
representatives in activities aimed at capacity building, including within the
framework of cooperation with international partners.
The
workshop was organized within the frames of the “Promoting equality and
non-discrimination: towards more resilient and inclusive societies” and
"Promoting equality and combating racism and intolerance in the Western
Balkans" projects.
