“Human rights, Good Governance and the Rule of Law–Role and Relevance of the Human Rights Defender"
This manual was prepared by the UNDP international expert Frank Orton and the national expert Genya Petrosyan for the purpose of training of trainers. The manual was developed by means of the project “Promoting human rights and facilitating public awareness of the Human Rights Defender’s office in Armenia”. The Project is funded by the Ministry for Development Cooperation of the Netherlands and jointly implemented by the National Assembly of Armenia and the UNDP.

This book relates to the human rights and fundamental freedoms, their limitations, democracy, civil society, concept of legal, social state, genesis and generations of human rights.
The book covers the human rights protection mechanism in Armenia, activities of some international organizations dealing with the issues of human rights protection. The book encloses annexes, boxes, schemes and internet addresses of some international organizations and international documents on human rights.
The book can be useful for secondary school pupils and teachers, for students and lecturers of universities, for people who are interested in human rights issues, as well as for wide society.
