The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan, accompanied by representatives of the Office, visited the “Yerevan-Kentron” Penitentiary Institution of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia to get acquainted on site with the situation regarding the protection of the rights of persons deprived of their liberty, the conditions of detention and the problems raised.
On September 25, representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Office of the Republic of Armenia participated in a training course organized by the Council of Europe entitled “Workshop on Preparing Alternative Reports to the European Committee of Social Rights (ECSR)”.
On September 28, a meeting and discussion entitled “Reproductive Health: Rights and Ethics”, dedicated to International Safe Abortion Day, was held at Yerevan State Medical University named after Mkhitar Heratsi.
